HOMER
HOMER is one of the world's most powerful and most widely-used tools for designing hybrid renewable power systems. HOMER simulates and optimizes stand-alone and grid-connected power systems comprising any combination of wind turbines, PV arrays, run-of-river hydro power, biomass power, internal combustion engine generators, microturbines, fuel cells, batteries, and hydrogen storage, serving both electric and thermal loads.
Since 1997, Mistaya Engineering has provided software engineering, documentation, and technical support for HOMER, first for the US National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and now for HOMER Energy, a new company created to commercialize HOMER.
You can download HOMER for free from www.homerenergy.com. Over 30,000 people have done so, and dozens of universities around the world have incorporated it into their engineering programs.
